Emma Mammano, MA, LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor with a rich and varied background in mental health and social services. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance from Hamilton College in New York and her first Master’s degree in Child and Family Psychology from Southern Illinois University. After working in therapeutic foster care and residential treatment, Emma returned to graduate school to earn a second Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Monmouth University, paving the way for her work as a professional counselor.
Emma’s clinical experience spans in-home counseling, school-based support, and outpatient therapy for individuals across the lifespan. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in diverse settings, offering care that is flexible, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs.
Her approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and incorporates a wide range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Focusing/Inner Relationship Focusing, somatic practices, and mindfulness techniques. Influenced by Buddhist psychology and yoga philosophy, Emma draws on her background as both a yoga teacher and a dedicated practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism to bring a holistic, mind-body perspective to her work.
Outside the therapy room, Emma enjoys mini-golf and movie nights with her family, taking yoga classes, and learning Flamenco dance.
