Kerianne Clayton, LSW

Kerianne Clayton is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from Monmouth University. With experience in settings ranging from a youth homeless shelter to a school and an outpatient office for children and adolescents, Keri has developed a compassionate, client-centered approach tailored to the unique challenges of youth. Her specialties include working with children and teens navigating trauma, LGBTQ+ identity, high school stress, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem, body image, and disordered eating.

Keri emphasizes creating a safe, welcoming environment for her clients, understanding that comfort is key for youth to express themselves openly. She frequently incorporates elements of play and art therapy into her sessions to reduce pressure and help young clients feel at ease. By engaging them in creative activities like arts and crafts, she promotes therapeutic self-expression and emotional processing in a non-intimidating way. Keri’s approach is rooted in a humanistic philosophy, meeting each client where they are and working with them compassionately to achieve their personal goals.

She believes in the importance of building resilience and self-awareness in young clients, helping them cultivate positive coping mechanisms and healthy self-image. Outside of her professional work, Keri enjoys walking her dog by the beach, playing rugby, practicing gratitude over a morning iced coffee, and spending quality time with friends.
