Dr. Kristine C. Keane, PsyD, is a distinguished clinical and sports neuropsychologist, renowned for her expertise in the evaluation and treatment of concussion and mild traumatic brain injury. As the esteemed founder and CEO of the Center for NeuroWellness since 2006 and with over two decades of clinical practice in New Jersey, Dr. Keane has developed an exceptional reputation for her adeptness in assessing and addressing various neurological conditions. Her specialized areas of focus encompass Sports Concussion, Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), Mild Neurocognitive Impairment, Memory Loss, Alzheimer’s, Dementias, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Post-Covid Neurocognitive Decline, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders.
Beyond her private practice, Dr. Keane serves as the esteemed Clinical Director of the Hackensack Meridian Health Neuroscience Concussion Program South since 2016. Her dedication to disseminating knowledge and promoting neurological well-being is evident in her active membership in esteemed organizations such as the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey (BIANJ), National Academy of Neuropsychology, Sports Neuropsychology Society, New Jersey Neuropsychology Society, Brain Injury Association of New Jersey, American Psychological Association, and the New Jersey Psychological Association. Acknowledged as a prominent leader in her field, Dr. Keane was recognized as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of New Jersey for 2022, an accolade that speaks volumes about her impact and influence in the community.
Dr. Keane’s journey to becoming a preeminent neuropsychologist includes her doctoral internship at the University of Rochester Medical Center, University of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed specialized programs in Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology at the Rochester Psychiatric Center and Strong Memorial Medical Center. During her predoctoral studies at the Florida Institute of Technology, Dr. Keane honed her expertise at the East Central Memory Disorder Clinic of the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative within the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs as well as at the Veteran’s Administration within the Center for Combat Trauma Studies.
Dr. Keane’s commitment to enhancing the lives of others extends beyond her professional endeavors. She recently co-authored the book “Be All In, Raising Kids for Success in Sports and Life”. The book offers invaluable, practical advice for youth athletes, parents, and coaches, serving as a must-read for sports parents everywhere. Outside the office, Dr. Keane leads an active life and cherishes quality time with her family. On the sidelines of Jersey Shore, she passionately supports her favorite teams, while also indulging in her love for drumming, beach outings, and cheering on Notre Dame football.
