Mallory Sheklian, LPC

Mallory Sheklian is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who provides individual psychotherapy and biofeedback therapy services. Mallory received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the client’s presenting concerns, but primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the Nurtured Heart approach. Mallory has experience providing therapeutic services for challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and symptoms associated with trauma.

Mallory is a heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback therapist and is a HeartMath® Certified Practitioner. She utilizes HRV biofeedback software and evidenced-based techniques to regulate heart rhythms that promote optimal levels of functioning across body systems. HeartMath Biofeedback training has the ability to improve focus, sleep, calmness and decrease anxiety, fatigue and depression.

Prior to joining the Center for NeuroWellness team, Mallory was the clinical coordinator and clinician for a program at a Monmouth County high school, which specialized in providing in-school support services for at-risk students. Mallory has facilitated individual, group, and family therapy sessions. She has experience in crisis de-escalation, case management, in-home services, and group facilitation. Mallory also has experience providing services to individuals on the Autism spectrum, was previously an ABA therapist, and has volunteered for many years at a facility which provides equine-assisted therapy to people with various cognitive, behavioral, and physical challenges.

In her free time, Mallory enjoys spending time with her family, being outside in nature, and hanging out with any animal who will have her company.
