Nicole Newton, Psy.D.

Dr. Newton is a psychometrist, with a wealth of experience spanning across children, adolescents, and adults. Her expertise lies in evaluating emotional functioning, behavioral issues, personality disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD. Beyond this, she has a robust background in forensic evaluations, including pre-employment, fitness-for-duty, and competence to stand trial assessments.

At the Center for NeuroWellness, Dr. Newton brings a unique approach to assessment, aiming to provide clients with comfort and clarity. She goes beyond conventional psychological tests, recognizing the multidimensionality of individuals. Driven by a commitment to understanding her clients holistically, she explores personal interests, strengths and weaknesses, family dynamics, personal relationships, cultural influences, and values to unveil a comprehensive understanding of their individual identity and worldview.

Before joining our team, Dr. Newton completed her postdoctoral training in Chicago, focusing on diagnostic psychological assessments. Throughout her internship and graduate training, she provided individual therapy addressing a spectrum of issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, relational challenges, and those associated with the criminal justice system. Dr. Newton’s therapeutic approach is psychodynamically grounded, emphasizing attachment and relationships while incorporating Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy interventions. Her focus is on fostering self-awareness, introspection, healthy coping strategies, and building authentic and meaningful relationships.

Dr. Newton holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Temple University and a doctorate degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her extensive professional journey includes providing services in private practice, educational institutions, and correctional settings.
