Shannon Hensel, LPC is a licensed professional counselor who provides counseling as well as psychometric services to individuals of all backgrounds. Shannon previously provided psychotherapy services to individuals and couples in private practice settings, and assisted with testing services in a pediatric hospital. She is trained in several psychological and neuropsychological assessments as well as evidenced based practices for therapy. She is passionate about the field of psychology and mental health as a whole, utilizing ethical, compassionate, and client-centered approaches to treatment. She maintains cultural sensitivity and is dedicated to working with individuals from all walks of life. Shannon utilizes a variety of modalities in her work, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
Shannon obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology both from Loyola University Maryland. She facilitated psychoeducational groups teaching acceptance and commitment therapy while at Loyola. Shannon prioritizes client care and strives to create a personalized, non-judgmental, and safe space for individuals to feel comfortable and supported.
During her free time, Shannon loves to hike, play tennis, and spend time with loved ones.
